AZCO’S TEST STRIP CUTTER is an automated two step system in which a diagnostic sheet is cut into individual pieces

This custom Sheeting System takes an extruded film and indexes and cuts the sheets to lengths in increments up to six digits. After the sheets are indexed and cut, an automated stacking system will create stacks onto a tray system provided by the customer with AZCO’s guidance. The tray system will accommodate all varieties of cut lengths and widths into a master tray.

The AZCO Automated Stacking Station is positioned directly after the AZCO FG1000 cut to length unit. The station will be capable of handling a 24“ tall stack of sheets measuring (width 24”-30”) and (length 12”-41”); 0.1” thick; weighing a maximum of 500 lbs. The height of the stacking station is motorized to provide precise adjustments. A series of optical sensors are installed to ensure proper operation.

Our Customer required a system with a unwind roll having the following dimensions of 3” core, 18” or less OD, up to 8” wide weighing under 50 lbs. The web guided by the rollers into the Sur-Feed motorized feeder. The Sur-Feed has an AC motor with a variable speed control to provide flexibility during the process. The customer’s process was before the feed rollers. Second set of rollers and a dancer assembly guides the material into the rewind. The web speed is to be controlled by the Sur-Feed roll feeder. The unwind and rewind will run from dancer assemblies and will work independently of web speed. This simplifies the set up. The unwind and rewind become the slave to the unit and automatically adjust to the roll feeders performance. Simple to use. Bench mounted and requires 110vac and compressed air.

We provided our customer with means to unwind and feed a 4.5 mil plastic roll of tape by 1 ˝” wide. The material operated at speeds of 1700 inches per minute. We took our standard Unwind and Roll feed units. Bolting together the unwind unit with dancer arm and servo motor to ensure that material is unwound at desired speed. With the Roll feed unit you get accurate lengths and precision speeds as a result of the servo motor drive package. To insure that the material is being unwind at the correct rate the unwind also was servo motor driven.

This 11 pneumatic shear cut slitting station. Features pneumatically-controlled switches for each slitting blade, giving the opportunity to make as many as 11 cuts or as little as 1 cut of thin material. You could slit a wide varity of flexible materials such as films, foils, paper, non-woven and laminated products. Easy to adjust the slit width by moving the slitter holders on the dove tail bar. You could have it either motorized or unmotorized as shown. This module is design so you could bolt it into your new or existing machine or process.

Copper and aluminum foil need to be slit to size. The copper was .0005” thick and the aluminum foil was .001” thick. A 3” Inside Dimension roll weighed 35lbs. The roll of material was placed on the unwind stand. From the unwind shaft the material went over an idler roller. A dancer assembly controlled the unwind motor drive. The shear cut slitter station slit the foil to size. Urethane drive rollers feed the web thru the slitter station and the material went into a set of guide rollers, which separated each strip of material. A differential airshaft held each new core in place. The advantage of the differential air shaft permits each strip to be rewind to a constant tension.

Several units could be connected in series. The FG -250 cut to length units can act as the master or the slave in a process. The interface could be as simple as a one shot sign [dry contact]. Upon receiving a signal the units will index a predetermined length. This unit featured a color touch screen and PLC controller. If multiple cut lengths are required they can be pre-programmed. Unit size is 250mm wide.

This particular unit was used to cut “breath strips” by a popular candy manufacturer. The pneumatically-controlled top roller feeds thin materials into a cut-to-length unit. This unit is a FG-110 cut to length module. It has a 110mm wide blade with a stepper motor drive. All our pre-owned units have been rebuilt and has a one year warranty. You get a significant cost savings, and they are in stock, delivery is in 1-2 days.

A medical device company was looking to cut their test strips into 3mm, 4mm, or 5mm lengths. They loaded the SM-6 Sur-Size cut-to-length unit with either strips or a continuous roll of material.
From the color touch screen, the operator entered in the length and number of pieces to be cut. Precision ground urethane drive rollers precisely fed the material to length and then the knife assembly cut it to size. To eliminate adhesive build up on the blades, priority coats were applied, greatly reducing adhesive build up on the blades. A static eliminator has been supplied to reduce the static charge, causing the cut pieces to cling to the unit.

A repeat customer had a need for a very large opening to pass their product through. Even though they had to have a large opening, their space was very tight. This unit features a 48” wide guillotine knife, precision guide shafts, and high load linear bearings. The unit was lengthened by 2.75” and the blade shoe was elongated to match the opening. Although with a manual feed in its current configuration, this unit can be customized with a roll feeder.
