Material: .010” x 6.25″ wide thick clear plastic with a sputtered gold coating on one side which could not be in contact.
Requirements
Feed and cut to a precision length with a tolerance of +/-.015 inches.
Our Solution
We used our standard modules:
- A dancer unwind used a sensor to control the presence of the loop
- The material went over an idler roller.
- An FG-250 cut to length with precision ground urethane rollers. The unit had an eye registration system so that the cuts were made relative to some punch holes on the side. As the material went forward, a static eliminator was used to control the static during the process. When the material left the knife assembly, there was a jam eye sensor to tell if the material was coming out.
- The unit was mounted on a 45° angle so discharge could be easily onto another process.
- The unit was mounted on a base plate and a stand.
- An ultrasonic loop sensor was used to monitor the position of the loop going into the cut to length unit.
- A no product sensor was used: if there was no product, the material would stop.
- Cut length was 11”, +/-.015 in accuracy.
- Power requirements: the unit used 110 V and compressed air.
