Our Solution:
AZCO Corp. designed and manufactured a sheeter with an automated stacking system.
- A roll of material is loaded onto an AZCO heavy duty unwind. The unwind has a control panel for easy operator use.
- The material is supported and held in place by a pneumatic airshaft which is supported by a set of safety chucks.
- The material travels over a set of idler rollers that assist in transitioning from the unwind to the next process.
- The film is guided into the slitter station.
- Eye registration system registers the cut to a printed mark.
- The edge trim is rewound.
- Precision-ground rollers feed the material to length.
- The material feeds out of the blade. The stacker’s grippers grip the leading edge and pull back as the material is fed out by the nip rollers.
- Once the material is fed to length, the guillotine is triggered to cut the material.
- After the piece is cut, a clamp mounted on the knife side of the stacker grips the trailing edge holding the material in place; the stacker then releases the material.
- The leading edge feeds out of the guillotine, and the process repeats.
- A no-product sensor stops the machine if no material is present.
- Safety light curtains are used to protect the operator from the machine.
- The unit is PLC controlled. An operator control panel is provided which includes a color touch screen for easy setup and operation of the units.
- This control panel requires 230 volts, single phase, 60 cycles
- Compressed air 2.75 – 5.5 bar [40 to 80 psi]
