Requirements:

This application required unwinding and precisely cutting PTFE tape from a roll form in to precise pieces at various lengths.

Material Width: Maximum width of 9”

Our Solution:

AZCO Corp. designed and manufactured a cut-to-length assembly with an unwind station and remote locatable control panel to unwind and precisely cut PTFE tape from a roll form into precise pieces.

  • Rolls of material are loaded onto the motorized unwind.
  • The cantilevered design allows for quick and easy loading.
  • From the unwind, material travels under an idler roller and into the cut-to-length station.
  • A no product sensor will automatically shut down the unit if there is no product sensed entering the rollers.
  • A set of high precision ground urethane rollers pulls the material into the cut-to-length unit.
  • Pressure between rollers can manually be adjusted.
  • Operator can lift the idler roller using a toggle switch for easy setup of new rolls.
  • A heat treated D2 tool steel blade cuts the material into precise pieces.
  • Cut pieces then fall down a short exit chute.
  • A jam sensor will automatically shut the unit down when no product is sensed exiting the knife assembly.
  • The unit has a color touch screen for easy setup and operation.
  • All components are mounted on a common aluminum base.
  • Unit requirements: Power requirement: 110VAC 50-60Hz [220VAC available upon request] | Air requirements: 2.75 bar [40-90 PSI]
