AZCO’s unwind, slitting, laminating, and rewinding system is designed to process reagent paper into precise lanes while maintaining clean edges and controlled tension for test strip manufacturing.

  • A spool of reagent paper and a roll of double-sided tape are loaded onto separate dancer unwind assemblies.
  • Both materials are indexed to a set of silicon laminating rollers.
  • An AZCO SUR-FEED™ RF-250 Roll Feeder ensures precision speed control and consistent tension.
  • Laminated material enters a Fixed Blade Shear Slitter Assembly equipped with an adhesive package to minimize buildup on blades.
  • A lubricated pad cleans the blades, while a secondary pad removes residual cleaning agent to prevent reagent contamination.
  • From the slitting station, 0.2-inch (5.08 mm) reagent lanes exit, guided by idler rollers to dual roll rewinds.
  • Each rewind shaft collects the slit lanes; spring preload provides side tension for uniform winding.
  • Empty spools must be supplied by the customer and can be easily removed once filled.
  • An additional shear slitting tooling set is included for 0.25-inch (6.35 mm) wide strips.
  • Note: Machine capability may differ from process limitations.
